The golden ratio

What is the golden ratio has to do with building?
Not every client knows the message of the golden section, or is this subject in the school met a few of the architects I've met who think their planning on these golden ratio. What lies behind this?
Simply put, it is this is a distance or area layout, the appearance of an especially harmonious or beautiful or pleasing.
actual fact, many things around us again approximately as the golden ratio. (Din-sheet formats, movie formats, television formats, screen sizes ...) also in
nature is found in stem sections of flowers in flower arrangements, again with the housing growth of marine animals, this special allocation. Even when people are found in arm length, leg length body size measure this division again. So why should
this harmonious mass distribution can not be used in today's architecture?

The wider I have information from Wikipedia, the golden section copied out. I think it is worthwhile to use this information for the planning of his new living quarters and the architect for the redesign of your new home here to make a preset.

definition
Golden Ratio The golden ratio (
Latin sectio aurea) is a specific ratio of two numbers or sizes :
Two routes are in the golden ratio, if the larger to smaller as the sum of the two acts for the greater.
The value is about 1.618. Track conditions in the golden section in the
art and architecture often ideal proportion and the epitome of aesthetics and harmony considered. In addition, the ratio also occurs in nature in appearance and is characterized by a number of interesting mathematical properties. Other terms used are continuous division and divine division ( Latin proportional divina).
The importance of the golden section
comparison with other division ratios
is a possible reason for the popularity of the golden ratio be seen in its high degree of irrationality. This means that he is of all ratios of small integers, such as 2: 3 or 3: 4, clearly stands out, which may be desirable in certain aesthetic contexts. Perhaps then it has been often unconsciously and without precise dimensional chosen intuitively.
The figure compares different rectangles with prominent aspect ratios in the vicinity of Φ. Given is the proportion of height to width and the corresponding numerical factor:

paper and image formats
In
printing was formerly sometimes the area of a page that so-called type area, positioned such that the ratio of the gutter to head web of outer web of footbridge, like 2:3:5:8 behaved. This choice of Fibonacci numbers approximates the golden ratio.
Typical areas (above the right corner, left to right):
4: 3 - Classic TV format and
ball format for wrapping paper. As a rule, used in computer monitors (eg 1024 × 768 pixels ). This format dates back to Thomas Alva Edison , which defined the format of the 1889 classic film image ( 35-mm film ) to 24 × 18 mm.
√ 2: 1 - The ratio of the
A4 sheet and related DIN / EN / ISO dimensions. By halving by a cut that halves the longer sides of the rectangle, arise again right corner with the same aspect ratio.
3: 2 - Since the ratio
small film (36 mm × 24 mm).
Φ: 1 - the ratio in the golden ratio. Corresponds to the historical
book format octave . Here approximated by 144 × 89 pixels with a theoretical error of only 5.10 -5. The two adjacent rectangles have aspect ratios of consecutive Fibonacci numbers and therefore also approximate the golden ratio is comparatively good.
5: 3 - Finds next to the still broader one: 1.85 as
Cinema use.
16: 9 -

history
Hippasus of Metapontum (c. 450 BC), who belonged to the Brotherhood of the Pythagoreans discovered in its investigations on the pentagon, the ratio of edge length to size not represented as a fraction of whole numbers. This result was contrary to the belief of the Pythagoreans that the world can be described completely by integers. Ironically, now found itself the refutation This view of all the pentagram, symbol of the Pythagoreans. Hippasus discovered that the phenomenon of irrational numbers using the incommensurability of line, and two sizes, which are in the golden ratio. Unconfirmed reports that he spread his discovery, contrary to the rules of his secret society in the public and therefore was drowned as a punishment.
The first detailed description of the Golden Section is from
Euclid (c. 300 BC), the fact of his Studies on the Platonic solids and the Pentagon or the pentagram came. His name for this division ratio was later translated as "having proportional medium et duo extrema", which is now called the "division in the inner and outer relationship".
The Vitruvian Man , Leonardo da Vinci , 1492,

employed Later, the Franciscan monk Luca Pacioli di Borgo Sansepolcro (1445-1514), who taught at the University of Perugia mathematics, Euclid's work. He called this division into sections Divine division, which was based on Plato's identification of creation with the five Platonic solids, which is to design the golden ratio is an important tool. His work of the same "De Divina Proportion" of 1509 consists of three independent directories. The first is a purely mathematical treatise, but produces no relation to art and architecture. The second is a short treatise on the writings of the Roman Vitruvius from the 1st Century BC to the architecture, in which Vitruvius is the proportions of the human body as a template for architecture. This book contains a study of Leonardo da Vinci (1452-1519) on the Vitruvian man. The ratio of the square side of radius in this famous image corresponds with a deviation of 1.7% the golden section, but which is not even mentioned in the accompanying book. In addition, one would not expect this difference in a constructive process.
The first known calculation
[1] the golden section as "about 1.6180340" wrote the Tubingen professor Michael Maestlin 1597 in a letter to his former student Johannes Kepler . In essays by various authors in
19th Century, especially by the philosopher
Adolf Zeising [2] were combined these two documents to the thesis would Pacioli in the "De Divina Proportion" in collaboration with Leonardo da Vinci a connection between art and produced Golden section and thus his re-discovery for the painting the Renaissance founded. Zeising was the existence of a natural law of aesthetics believe should be the base of the Golden Section. He sought and found the golden section everywhere. His writings spread rapidly and established a real euphoria about the golden section. On the other hand, a literature analysis suggest that Zeising no one in the works of antiquity or Renaissance thought the Golden Ratio seen. Such findings are therefore now more controversial among art historians.
The term golden section was first held in 1835, a few years earlier, of
Martin Ohm (1792-1872, brother of Georg Simon Ohm ) in a textbook of mathematics used. [3] The designation sectio aurea was only at this time.
Gustav Theodor Fechner , a founder of experimental psychology, presented in 1876 in studies with human subjects by means of rectangles, in fact, set a preference for the golden section. [4] The results in the division into sections and ellipses were quite different. Modern research shows that the results of such experiments strongly depends on the context of the performance. Fechner also found in measurements of images in various museums in Europe that the proportions in portrait mode and an average of about 4:5 in landscape mode is around 4:3 and thus differ significantly from the golden section.
beginning of the 20th Century were the writings of Romanian
Matila Costiescu Ghyka (1927) to the golden ratio attention that connected the religious aspect of Pacioli with the aesthetic of Zeising. He interpreted the golden section as a fundamental mystery of the universe and led to focus on examples in nature.
end of the 20th Century, studied the art historian
Marguerite Neveux with X-ray analytical methods under the color of original paintings, which allegedly contain the golden ratio, in vain for the marks or design marks. [5] employed Later, the Franciscan monk Luca Pacioli di Borgo Sansepolcro (1445-1514), the University of Perugia mathematics teaching, with Euclid's work. He called this division into sections Divine division, which refers to Plato's identification of Creation the five Platonic solids, referred to is the construction of the Golden Section is an important tool. This book contains a study of Leonardo da Vinci (1452-1519) über den vitruvianischen Menschen.
Seine Schriften spread rapidly and established a real euphoria about the golden section. On the other hand, a literature analysis suggest that Zeising no one in the works of antiquity or Renaissance thought the Golden Ratio seen. Such findings are therefore now more controversial among art historians.

Architecture
Early indications of the likely unconscious use of the golden section are from the architecture. The writings of the Greek historian Herodotus
to Cheops pyramid sometimes be interpreted as meaning that the amount of side area to half the base edge in the ratio of the Golden Section would. The relevant passage is only interpretable. On the other hand, it is argued that the ratio 2: π for pyramid height to base edge, the actual dimensions better reflect. The difference between the two theories is 1.0 per thousand .
Many works of ancient Greece are seen as examples of using the golden section such as the front of 447-432 BC, Pericles
built Parthenon Temple on the Athens Acropolis . Since these works have survived to any plans, is not known whether these proportions were chosen consciously or intuitively. Even in later periods by numerous examples of the golden proportion, such as the Cathedral of Florence that Notre Dame in Paris or the Torhalle in Lorsch (770 AD). However, there is no empirical evidence for a significantly higher frequency of the golden ratio in these periods as compared to other division ratios. Similarly, historical evidence is lacking for an intentional use of the golden section.
An example of the deliberate implementation of the golden section is the
Old Town Hall in Leipzig , a Renaissance building from the years 1556/57. The moved from the central axis City Hall tower was an architectural avant-garde performance of the time and was caused by the vertebrae and turmoil for the urban self-consciousness of the city. Also, the city plan of the North Hessian Bad Arolsen is based on the Golden Section. It extends from the lock on the whole, planned Baroque city. Here is the golden section was used, however, the divine order on earth and thus the superiority of the former absolutist Prince show.
The architect and painter Le Corbusier (1887-1965) developed From 1940, a uniform measuring system based on the human dimensions and the golden section. He released it in 1949 in his book The Modulor which is considered one of the most important writings of architectural history or theory .

Was gibt`s Neues auf den 4 auserwählten Flecken von Dresden?

Dresden is changing and is changing every day. Only my four spots turn out to be very steady and constipation. However, the deceptive, is so only in the time-day! They have changed very often and have to suffer abrupt changes.
The 1-DM-Castle Lord `s sleepy! A week later he opened his beer garden for thirsty drinkers in commission.
notice from the newspaper: "The roof now has no more holes, the castle is dry."
